Riyo Mori (森 理世,) is a Japanese dance instructor. She won the Miss Universe pagent in May 2007. She is the first Asian Miss Universe since 2000, when Larra Dutta, Miss India, clinched the crown. She is only the second Japanese woman to be crowned; Miss Universe 1959. This was the longest gap for a country winning at Miss Universe. Asian Miss Universes are rare and there have only been eight in all in the 56 years of the pageant.
Mori is the first Japanese in history to pass the audition for The Rockette Summer Intensive. She has studied at Quinte Ballet School of Canada and also is a graduate of Centennial Secondary School in Ontario, Canada. She usually works as a ballet dancer.
